About the Role:

Are you ready to be a part of something truly impactful? I am seeking a passionate Principal HV Cable Design Engineer to join my clients dynamic Energy Networks team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the energy sector, contributing to the delivery of renewable energy projects crucial for achieving net zero. As part of their team, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the UK, including transmission and distribution sectors, offshore wind, and HVDC interconnectors.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Acting as a key cable engineer on multi-disciplinary projects.

- Delivering concept design, feasibility, and detailed design projects for clients, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.

- Producing or reviewing HV cable aspects of various projects, including onshore and offshore installations.

- Participating in bid and tender processes, contributing technical expertise to secure successful workstreams.

- Attending design reviews, hazard assessments, and site visits as required.

- Building strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and converting opportunities into successful projects.

- Engaging in industry working groups to stay at the forefront of technological advancements.

What You'll Need:

- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

- Experience in HV cable design, manufacture, and testing for HVAC and HVDC projects.

- Proficiency in HV cable system design and ratings, including experience with CYMCAP.

- Familiarity with IEC cable standards and CIGRE technical policies.

- Proven track record of delivering large, technically complex cable projects.

- Chartered Engineer status through the IET is desirable.

- Willingness to travel as required by projects or clients.
