Our client, a reputable London Borough Council, is seeking a Principal Planning Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Development Management sector and contribute to the planning and development of the borough.

• Manage a caseload of complex planning applications
• Provide professional advice and guidance on planning matters
• Assess applications for compliance with planning policies and regulations
• Conduct site visits and attend meetings with stakeholders
• Prepare detailed reports and make recommendations to the planning committee
• Assist in the development and implementation of planning policies
• Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies on planning projects
• Stay current with industry trends and changes in planning legislation

• Significant experience in Development Management
• Excellent knowledge of planning legislation and policies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively manage a caseload of complex planning applications
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and strong report writing abilities
• Proficient in using planning-related software and technology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
