Role: Principal Software Engineer (C# .NET Azure)

Salary: £120,000 base + 30% bonus + 14% Pension

Package: £172,000

Working: Hybrid 1 to 2 days onsite in either Cambridge or Surrey

Wedo has an exclusive partnership with a Global FinTech that is looking for a Principal Software Engineer who can lead the technical direction of a Flagship Greenfield Commercial Lines Product. This role is up to 70% hands-on coding, assisting in the design, architecture and technical roadmap guidance as well as coaching engineers.

They've moved from concept to MVP and success will be measured by delivering this to 1 major client by the end of the year. There's currently a team of 25 working on this, and this role will act as their chief technologist.

Team structure: Engineering Manager, Technical Team Lead, Architect, (You), Engineers, QA, Product and Delivery.

The primary focus is on leveraging SaaS technologies to build robust, scalable, and reliable distributed systems hosted on Azure , leveraging #C# .NET Core + some Angular.

The successful Principal Software Engineer will have the following experience:

· You fit into one of these current titles: Principal, Staff, Distinguished, Architect, or Senior Engineer.

· You still live in the code base, writing, refactoring, and improving code quality in C# .NET Core

· You can recommend, and implement high-performing solutions targeting Azure

· You have experience building Enterprise Grade Software

· You have worked at the architectural level, however, coming from a developer's angle

Desirable:

· Experience working on commercial lines insurance products

· Experience working in Insurance, Banking, Financial Services

Interview process:

1st stage – 30–45-minute screen (non-technical)

2nd stage – remote technical exercise (7 day turn around)

3rd stage – final interview 2 hours
