We are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Technical Animator to join our team at Lighthouse Games. As a Principal Technical Animator, you will play a pivotal role in defining the animation pipeline and driving excellence in animation quality across our games. You will collaborate closely with artists, designers, and programmers to develop advanced animation systems and push the boundaries of character animation in our games.

Key Duties Include

• Create and maintain efficient animation pipelines, ensuring smooth workflow and optimised performance without compromising quality
• Establish and enforce animation standards and best practices
• Collaborate with Animators, Character Artists , Designers, and Programmers to develop advanced animation systems and tools
• Drive innovation and improvement in animation processes and techniques by staying up-to-date with industry trends
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure animations meet gameplay and technical requirements

• Significant experience as a Technical Animator in the games industry
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Animation, or any related field
• Expert knowledge of animation software such as Maya, MotionBuilder, and/or 3DS Max
• Strong understanding of game engines, including Unity and Unreal Engine
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or C#
• Extensive experience with rigging and skinning complex characters
• Deep understanding of animation principles and techniques
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
