Allocation and Sequencing Co-ordinator -HMP Fosse Way

Leicestershire, LE18 4TN

£22,994.00    

Permanent (Full-Time, 40 Hrs)

Here at Serco we are looking for an Allocation and Sequencing Co-ordinator to join the team at our new state of the art Category C prison, HMP Fosse Way.

The main role of the Allocation and Sequencing Co-ordinator is to support the coordination of the fulfilment and accurate recording/analysis of purposeful activity spaces across HMP Fosse Way. Ensuring the right prisoners are engaging in the right activities, at the right time; as directed by their Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) whilst ensuring performance targets are met / exceeded.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities, and duties:

  • Contribute towards the implementation and fulfilment of the purposeful activity strategy, maximising opportunities for prisoners to engage in work, education and training that will benefit their rehabilitation and the efficient running of the prison
  • To provide administrative support for all areas of the Learning and Skills Department
  • To ensure at all times that all scheduling records are complete and input onto CMS, and appropriate local recording systems, including manual and electronic files.
  • Identify those prisoners eligible for education and activities and start to process in line with the relevant timetables.
  • To ensure that all activities places are allocated
  • To work as part of the team in an efficient and professional manner  
  • To communicate to all colleagues, throughout the prison in an appropriate and professional manner
  • To have an understanding of all relevant policies and procedures and provide help and support in all areas of the function as required by your line manager
  • To demonstrate a positive attitude to change and show flexibility in the work place.
  • To ensure a high level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to staff and prisoners, and that all information, both written and oral, is treated confidentially.
  • To administer all systems within the department 
  • Produce reports as requested
  • To maintain accurate records of all actions taken
  • Enter appropriate figures for all your areas of responsibility onto the month end report by the specified date
  • Daily filing and archiving of records when required 
  • To undertake other duties as directed by senior management

What you will need to do the role

  • GCSE C in Maths and English
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Excellent IT, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage workload
  • Ability to work under pressure 
  • Able to reflect on own performance and to strive for continuous improvement   
  • Good working knowledge of databases
  • Demonstration of flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Able to form good working relationships
  • Able to work independently and as part of a busy small team
  • To solve issues at the earliest stage, presenting solutions to mangers when required
  • To adhere to Data Protection at all times 
  • To maintain professional relationships with colleagues from other areas
  • To ensure that information and data, processing, storage, and transmission of systems and processes are managed appropriately and in guidance with data protection and Serco policies.
  • ECDL/IT qualifications - Desirable
  • PTLLS (Levels 3 Award in Education and Training) - Desirable

What else do you need to know?

  • This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office. 
  • You will be required to obtain Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 Vetting.
