This is a critical role reporting to the Head of Privilege Access Management within the CISO function with a simple but vital mission to help protect our customers and staff.  The role has accountability for Privileged Access Management and will be key in the journey to build the capability as we mature our posture in this space that will support in the management and coverage of the PAM toolset and work in conjunction with the wider Technology & Operations function.

Preventing unauthorised access to our systems and data and preventing the unauthorised disclosure – whether accidental or malicious, of customer and corporate information are not just critical responsibilities, but a foundation of covenant of trust we have with our customers and staff.

We recognise that both the threat landscape and our regulatory and legal environment are constantly changing.  Having the vision to anticipate these changes and ensure that our systems and processes can adapt quickly will be a vital skill.  You’ll want to innovate and look beyond the obvious to identify new data sources or methods that help improve accuracy, reduce resolution time, or increase coverage and confidence in our security posture.

The difference you’ll make.

  • Helping to execute transformational change & overseeing the smooth running of the operations for this core function with a continual focus on security improvements. Managing the PAM strategy and relationship for these services with Santander Digital Services and CIO key stakeholders.
  • Developing our Privileged Access capabilities, increasing coverage, improving efficiency and accuracy, and striving to reduce complexity wherever possible and embedding of the target operating model and sustainable provision of services.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert as an example within IAM function of a person ready to grow and help others grow in an environment that welcomes diversity in all its forms and working to deliver the strategic direction for the UK business, outlining key PAM initiatives to strengthen the UK control environment, aligned to regulatory and compliance requirements and to Group objectives.
  • Being part of a centre of excellence for Privileged Access within the CISO function and developing subject matter expertise for all elements of external authentication.  Work in conjunction with our BISO and Product Security teams to ensure patterns and practices are consistently embedded into our infrastructure, applications, and services.
  • Fostering relationships with Group and applicable business stakeholders to support their understanding of PAM control requirements.
  • Overseeing adoption and increasing coverage of PAM solution notably CyberArk across a diverse portfolio of applications and embedding the target operating model and sustainable provision of services/ Developing and evolving governance controls for PAM to meet the needs of regulators and other internal stakeholders, particularly in the face of new technology approaches.

    What you’ll bring.
  • Technical experience in a large corporate environment, preferably in a regulated industry – Financial services sector with hands on experience of CyberArk, specially adapted to public cloud,  from management, design & development.
  • Knowledge of key IAM areas, including privileged access management (PAM), Identity, governance & administration (IGA), and identity as applied to public cloud services (AWS mainly).
  • Project lifecycle experience especially agile and Project Management using tools such as Github, JIRA, Confluence etc.
  • Understanding of IT Security Standards and frameworks (such as ISO, NIST, GDPR)
  • Experience with managing applications credentials, and Privileged User Access policy management, experience in performing Privileged Access reviews, compliance reporting, Access Control processes, MFA, AD LDAP, and other associated tasks within Privileged User management.
  • Knowledge of tools, techniques, approaches, and processes of cybersecurity risk management in the identity domain.
