Job Summary:
As a process engineering intern, you will be part of the Fab Engineering team, working on state of art technology in wafer manufacturing in the areas of photolithography and wet etch. You will work mostly in the clean room as well as lab areas to optimize existing processes, to support R&D, work with production materials and ongoing project work, to support the business in delivering products to meet technical specifications and timelines. You will work closely with the wider team to develop new processes in the Photolithography & Wet Etch process modules to meet new device requirements for future technology, capex installation projects and provide support to transfer processes to large volume manufacturing as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Photolithography & Wet Etch teams with process development deliverables.
- Supporting toolsets and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Working with engineers/technicians/operators to support and deliver processes to agreed schedules.
- To learn and subsequently review and support statistical process control (SPC) of related tools and processes to ensure stable and robust processes.
- Assist in developing building blocks where required.
- Working with design and testing teams where required (spec reviews, FMEA etc.).
- Interfacing with equipment/facilities engineers where required (MFMEA, tool support).
- Document tool operation and process details and write standard of procedures where required (SOPs).
- Support the development of new processing steps to meet product and technology roadmap requirements.
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment in fab.
Person Specification:
Required:
- Understanding of semiconductor processing techniques
- Good dexterity for handling III-V semiconductor wafers and samples.
- Currently pursuing at least, a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electronic Eng.)
- Charting & data management in Microsoft platforms (excel, PowerPoint, word)
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience in setting up successful design of experiments and statistical analysis using specific packages (minitab, JMP, for example).
- Good knowledge of InP based materials and related process techniques.
- Understanding of lean six sigma techniques and gauge R&R studies.
- Cleanroom Fab experience useful.
