NHS Shared Business Services are seeking an experienced procurement category professional to join our growing Digital & IT Category  Management team as Category Manager, supporting a number of upcoming and exciting projects.

This is a hybrid working role with the requirement to attend the Salford office on a monthly basis.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing procurement strategies for allocated sub-categories through detailed demand/market analysis, ensuring continual improvement and innovation in service delivery.
  • Delivering on a portfolio of projects as agreed with NHS Shared Business Services client stakeholders, meeting expectations and timelines.
  • Maximising contract compliance and undertakes procurement activities in accordance with PCR2015 legislation/commercial/contract law/Standing Financial
    Instructions plus environmental and sustainability requirements.
  • Consistently meeting best value for money through effective sourcing of goods and services.
  • Monitoring procurement performance across the relevant economies for the category area.

What you’ll bring:

  • Professional Qualification in Procurement (such as MCIPS) or related discipline (Contract Management, Supply Chain, Funding etc).
  • Experience of working in procurement, commissioning, bid writing or contract management team within Public Sector.
  • Knowledge and skill in Procurement process, (scoping, briefing, tendering, selection, contract negotiation, including service level agreements, and management of supplier).
  • Market and product knowledge in some commodities.

It would be great if you had:

  • General commercial awareness.
  • Ability to communicate in English on a familiar subject.
  • Knowledge of EU/UK Procurement Policies, Procedures and Processes.
  • Knowledge of Procurement ERP systems, eSourcing tools and MS Office.

Salary:  up to £40,000 per annum
