Full Job Description

Copello have partnered with a leading defence business in the recruitment of Procurement Professionals / Practitioners to be based in Cumbria.

Depending on level, responsibilities will include:

* Responsibility for sourcing, negotiating, placing & managing contracts to de-risk the programme

* Working in conjunction with the Integrated Delivery Team and cross programme key stakeholders

* Maintaining reporting and managing information in line with programme requirements including Cost and spend management, Supplier performance, Schedule delivery performance of data and hardware

* Maintenance and creation of Purchase Orders in SAP and associated purchasing systems

* Accountability for all related Supply Chain activity in line with area of responsibility

* Contract management – major subcontract & transactional

* Undertaking all aspects of procurement related activity to cost, quality and schedule

* Delivering Procurement expertise in line with corporate Procurement policy and process in line with business requirements and performance objectives

* You will have the ability to work as part of a team at pace, be professional within the procurement field and be flexible at all points of the procurement lifecycle

* Undertaking reporting, data analysis, updating contracting documents and other ad hoc activities

The ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:

* Excellent communication skills within a similar professional setting

* SAP knowledge with Previous experience in Procurement preferable

* Proficient IT user – Purchase Order/ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications

*

Competent knowledge of contracts and how to manage these

* Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills across all levels

* Strategic approach to tasks

* Equipment procurement experience

*

Experience in dealing with high value and volume contracts
