Full Job Description

Every large company was once a startup. And inside large companies are billion-dollar ideas, hidden talent and ready capital – resources and expertise that are the envy of any startup. Yet most companies never realize the potential of their built-in advantages for growth.

Why? Because doing that requires them to think and act differently — to recapture the spirit, spark, and speed of their entrepreneurial origins. It’s exceptionally difficult to do — but Mach49 does just that. We help ambitious companies unlock new disruptive growth through Venture Building and Venture Investing.

Focused 100% on execution, we bring Silicon Valley expertise to building and investing in a portfolio of ventures — building capability, not dependency. Learn more at

/ The Role

We are launching an innovative online social club designed to connect individuals worldwide who share a passion for technology, the arts, travel and more.

We are looking for a dynamic Product Leader to spearhead the strategy, roadmap development, and execution of a new, innovative digital community experience. This role demands a proactive, hands-on approach, focusing on delivering a compelling Minimum Viable Product (MVP), building and executing a community engagement strategy, and recruiting and engaging pilot community members. The ideal candidate will have a knack for managing multiple projects at various stages of development and embody a test-and-learn mentality.

  • Product Leadership & Development: Be the driving force in product development from inception to launch, ensuring alignment with our strategic vision. As the primary product manager for this venture, focus on employing lightweight technologies to identify product/market fit efficiently.
  • Community Engagement Strategy: Champion the creation, execution, and continuous improvement of innovative strategies to activate and engage our digital community, building dynamic engagement loops that foster a lively and interactive atmosphere. Develop initiatives that not only draw in community members but also promote active engagement, long-term retention, and growth.
  • Community Activation & Engagement: Direct the creation and implementation of hybrid events and online communication strategies to boost community engagement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in tandem with cross-functional teams to pinpoint and seize opportunities for product enhancement and the rollout of new features, such as immersive 3D experiences.
  • Product Testing & Documentation: Take an active role in product testing, analysis, and reporting, ensuring meticulous documentation of product specifications changes.
  • Progress Reporting: Consistently keep both executive and cross-functional teams informed about the status and advancement of product development.

This is initially a nine-month Fixed-Term employment contract role, with the potential for extension based on performance and the project's trajectory.

/ REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 5 years of direct product management experience, including a minimum of 2 years focused on digital communities, immersive technologies, gaming, or web3. Experience launching MVPs using a light technology approach in a test-to-build methodology preferred.
  • A strong preference for experience with consumer brands, particularly in building communities for such brands.
  • A proven track record with at least one product that has attained significant user engagement, ideally within the consumer sector.
  • A deep understanding of viral mechanics and retention strategies, with a penchant for metrics-driven iteration. Experience with data analysis necessary.
  • A keen eye for user experience and design, paired with rapid learning capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to think creatively.
  • The capacity to excel amidst uncertainty and swiftly adapt to change.
  • Strong Business Acumen to develop compelling business cases, support product choices and influence senior leaders.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
