BBC Studios is the most awarded production company and the biggest independent producer in the UK. The Documentary Unit, Salford produce a wide breadth of content for the BBC as well as other broadcasters.
Rip Off Britain is a highly successful Daytime series which specialises in delivering high quality, consumer journalism to a large audience. We would love to hear from experienced Production Coordinators who are passionate about TV and interested in working on Rip Off Britain Series 16.
Candidates must have experience of setting up UK filming, be confident at negotiating rates and raising contracts, budgeting, have a good working knowledge of archive and copyright clearance, and reporting.
All Rip Off Britain colleagues are ‘agile workers’ and our expectation is that you will work an average of 2-3 days per week in the BBC buildings, and at times this will increase to 5 days in the office per week during busier production periods.

The Production Coordinator provides logistical coordination to the production team on one or more productions and/or a portfolio of content
You will report to the Production Manager, and in
partnership with the editorial team, help to deliver outstanding
content. The purpose of this role is to provide production, logistical
and administrative support to the production team on, coordinating
production activities to ensure delivery is on time and within budget.
As the day to day focal point for the production team, you will
be responsible for managing the arrangements for all the resources
needed for the production. Supporting the Production Manager and
Junior Production Manager, you will book technical facilities and
equipment, source resources, retrieve quotes from suppliers and
negotiate deals. You will be responsible for pre-recorded ‘as live’
Gallery PA and Script Supervisor duties. You will also contribute to,
and help to implement, practical actions to reduce environmental
impact throughout production. You’ll be working to tight deadlines,
sometimes under pressure, while always producing work to a high
standard.
You will already have experience of working as a Production Coordinator across a variety of output whilst also demonstrating an interest in current affairs consumer output. Gallery PA experience in TV Production or equivalent is highly advantageous. You will be an adaptable individual who is highly organised and can work well under pressure. You will be able to use your own initiative and work well both independently and as part of a team. You will need to have excellent problem solving skills, a good communicator, have experience of working with budgets, hold good attention to detail when working in a fast paced environment and have a real can do attitude.
Experience of working in a self-shooting environment, creating
workflows and adapting to new technology is desirable.
