About this role:

The Production Engineering Technician will report directly into the Production Engineer and will be responsible for implementation of production working instructions, leading productivity improvements, including new product introduction. Improving quality.

Production Engineering defines and works out how the product will be manufactured and/or assembled on the production line including design of packaging, ensuring the right quantity of components/products are delivered and aligned to support the speed of the production line.  The Production Engineering Technician will review efficiencies and eliminate waste within the manufacturing process to deliver high quality products/components to clearly defined standards.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions (90% of the time)
  • Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Undertake continuous training and development
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
  • Ensure all product and system requirements are considered from the initial product conception to the finished result

Qualifications & Educational requirements:


  • Ability to create Bills of Materials and add new parts using the in-house systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and equipment used in the fabrication of mechanical and electronic equipment would be desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of production engineering or similar equivalent
  • Familiarity with electrical and electronic components and assembly techniques
  • Good understanding of best practice within a manufacturing environment
  • Good level of negotiation skills with external suppliers
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Team working skills
  • Analytical skills
