BBC Studios is the most awarded production company and the biggest independent producer in the UK. The Documentary Unit, Salford produce a wide breadth of content for the BBC as well as other broadcasters.
Rip Off Britain is a highly successful Daytime series which specialises in delivering high quality, consumer journalism to a large audience. We require an experienced Production Management Assistant who is passionate about TV and interested in working on Rip Off Britain Series 16.
The Production Management Assistant provides administrative support to the production team/s, in order to ensure the smooth and efficient running of productions.
All Rip Off Britain colleagues are ‘agile workers’ and our expectation is that you will work an average of 2-3 days per week in the MediaCityUK office, and at times this will increase to 5 days in the office per week during busier production periods.
You will report to the
Production Manager, and in partnership with the editorial team, help
to deliver outstanding content. The purpose of this role is to provide
administrative support for the production during various stages of the
process. You will assist the Production Coordinator in the
preparation and subsequent communication of production information.
You’ll be responsible for the smooth running of the production office,
acting as a key point of contact on the production, and supporting the
production management team using specialist skills, such as working in
a studio, working on location and planning/coordinating background
action where necessary, as well as booking travel and accommodation
for crew, talent and contributors. You will be responsible for
maintaining accurate records, logging consent forms, completing
transcripts, and arranging the ingest of rushes.
You will be
responsible for resolving a range of diverse operational issues within
the role, escalating to the Production Coordinator or Manager where
necessary.
You will already have experience of working as a
Production Management Assistant on television output. You will have
an interest in the BBC and the wider industry, and awareness of
multi-platform production/content. You will be able to manage
interpersonal relationships effectively and work collaboratively
within a diverse team.
Working in a fast-paced and
changeable environmentt. You’ll demonstrate strong organizational and
planning skills and have the ability to manage conflicting demands to
meet deadlines. You will have the ability to use own initiative with
confidence, using judgement to escalate where necessary.
Having business and finance skills, such as being able to understand and work with budgets is desirable.
Experience of
working in a self-shooting environment, creating workflows and
adapting to new technology is also desirable.
