Job Title: Production Team Leader

Sector: Renewable Energy

Location: Doncaster

Salary: 40,000- 45,000 (Depending on experience )

Nicholas Associates are working with vibrant alternative green energy technology company based in Doncaster who are looking to bring on board an experienced Production Team Leader

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage a team of production workers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Plan and organise production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines, optimising resources and minimising waste.
  • Monitor production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all company policies and regulations, and promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to coordinate production activities and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Train new employees on production procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, recognising achievements and addressing areas for development.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement, such as implementing lean manufacturing principles, streamlining processes, and introducing new technologies or methodologies.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to production management, incorporating relevant advancements into our operations.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Degree in engineering, related field (not essential).
  • Proven experience in a production leadership role, preferably in a startup environment or fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of production and assembly processes (specifically in piping), quality control principles, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals and exceed expectations.
  • Solid organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on delivering results.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic startup environment.

Desirable skills:

  • Process/chemical or mechanical engineering background preferred,
  • Electrical knowledge is beneficial.
