Job Description

We’re looking for a 5x Production Team Leaders to join our Operations team at Sika Leeds.

As part of our future proofing and preparing our business for future requirements, there is need to implement an effective leadership team, to ensure we are prepared for improving Sika Leeds. We are a fast-manufacturing environment with multiple functions that aims to be a world class manufacturing entity. A team of up to 130 multiskilled operatives work tireless to deliver the best products for our customers and for DIY industry in general.

This role will support and ensure that customer orders are produced in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. To identify and resolve areas of improvement and inefficiency. To be involved in new project / processes and be the voice of production to the process / engineering team.

The Opportunity:  

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety
  • Ensure that the team is behaving with safety in mind.
  • EHS audits/inspections are completed to ensure the robustness of the systems.
  • EHS training and coaching to ensure that standards are in place, known and followed.
  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are in place, known being followed.
  • People
  • Ensure skill level meets the plan to meet production requirements.
  • Coaching and motivating the team members to meet the objectives.
  • Checks-in completed to develop team members and clear career path.
  • Absence is tracked and managed to ensure the resources are available.
  • Efficiency /Cost
  • Materials flow and space utilisation are followed.
  • Ensure that scrap is recorded and well described to aid the roof cause analysis.
  • Delivery, Efficiency & Cost
  • Ensure targets are cascaded and monitored per machine.
  • Ensure that the team members are stopping the line where there is deviation to safety or quality requirements and escalating to allow corrective action.
  • Ensure that traceability information is completed to ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Change Management
  • To be aware of proposed changes and their implications.
  • To ensure that changes are effectively validated.
  • World Class Manufacturing Implementation support.
