Job Description
The Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology ( BCET ) at Old Dominion University invites applications for an Associate Dean for Undergraduate and Graduate Education. We seek exceptional leaders with a bold vision to help shape the educational mission of the College, including a vision for impactful diversity, equity, and inclusion ( DEI ) initiatives focused on student success at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate & Graduate Education is to enhance the quality and recognition of the BCET academic programs and student experience at all levels. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: promoting the continuous improvement and overall quality in all matters relating to teaching, learning, and the student experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels; facilitating the sustainable growth in enrollment and degree production in the BCET at the undergraduate and graduate levels; developing, coordinating, and assessing strategies to maximize student retention and success; working with the Dean and Department Chairs to define and develop academic program priorities, including opportunities for the BCET within ODU’s priority areas; in association with the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access, developing activities to increase awareness of educational, curricular, co-curricular, and other relevant opportunities to attract interest from a diverse population of students at the undergraduate and graduate levels; in association with the Associate Dean for Research & Innovation, identifying opportunities to enhance the teaching and research nexus; and pdvising the Dean on all matters related to teaching, learning, and the student experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in implementing Student Success initiatives for undergraduate and/or graduate students. A successful record in grant writing for engineering educational initiatives. Prior experience engaging with feeder institutions for undergraduate and graduate programs, and professionals in the industry.
