Role description:

Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

In this role, you will be responsible for the complex analysis and review of project documentation, regular use of cost estimating software applications and the generation of reports and presentations for client meetings. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating and infrastructure public funded work, excellent communication skills and be very knowledgeable with construction means and methods.

Role accountabilities:

  • Assist with the review of cost plans, prepare or review cost estimates, and appraisal of early-stage design maturity cost ranges
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs using Cost – X software
  • Prepare full or section of project estimates from conceptual design through 100% design, and prepare written basis of estimate report associated with the estimates. Be knowledgeable in appraising and calculating LCC and RepEx.
  • Track market conditions and costs
  • Build-up project costs from first principle and capable to analyse cost loaded programme
  • Organise and manage cost estimating database – Use and knowledge of Power-Bi essential
  • Assist with the development of project scope and communicate scope with key project stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to Degree level in relevant subject
  • Proven experience in Rail/Civils
  • Proficiency in CESSM 4, RMM2 and MMHW
  • 5 years of experience in cost estimating and commercial construction work
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods
  • Cost and estimating background
  • Experience with cost estimating advice
  • Exceptional skills demonstrating attention to detail
  • Adept in managing and delivering against challenging and competing timescales.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team to an aligned set of objectives
  • RICS / CIOB (preferable)
  • Proficient in using Cost-X
