We are working with one of the leading UK companies manufacturing their own pump range for both sale and hire. Our client has established a reputation for excellence and their range of pumps which go across a wide range of industries for applications such as handling solids, self-priming, and environmental clean-up.

With substantial growth in recent years, our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their friendly Quality Team at their Head Office in Eastleigh.

Position Overview:

The Quality Engineer will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the quality control systems, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to both internal and external stakeholders.

Working within the Pump Sales & Manufacturing Quality Team, the successful candidate will contribute to recall analysis, preventative actions, and containment measures, while supporting the Inspection team as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Quality Manager in defining and implementing inspection and quality procedures with new and existing suppliers, including auditing existing production stage checks.
  • Ensure the adoption of the best manufacturing methods to achieve consistent products of high quality.
  • Recommend drawing improvements to increase 'right first time' levels and reduce defects.
  • Participate in investigations of customer returns/complaints related to quality issues.
  • Maintain Production Failure and Quarantine processes, resolving raised issues promptly.
  • Ensure the calibration of all equipment, including hand measurement tools, torque wrenches, and pressure gauges.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a quality engineering role within the engineering and manufacturing industry, preferably in the pump or mechanical components manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles, tools, and methodologies such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical process control.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading quality improvement projects and driving measurable results.
  • Experience with root cause analysis techniques such as 8D, fishbone diagrams, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Experience in investigating quality issues within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with inspection processes and tools.
  • HNC/ Degree in engineering or equivalent experience in an ISO9001 accredited manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel).
  • Experience in a health and safety focused environment, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 quality standard requirements.
  • Full clean UK driving licence as they will be some occasional travel to assist field based teams.

Summary :

Position : Quality Engineer

Location : Eastleigh

Duration : Permanent

Salary : £38,000 - £42,000 + Bonus

Hours : Full-Time Monday - Friday
