Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - New Build Housing - Carpentry Contractor

Location: North London, Hertfordshire, N20 9AB

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time (Mon - Fri), Permanent

The Role:

We are seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will have experience of managing several live new build housing projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, submitting, and tracking tender documents, budgets, and bills of quantities
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Provide detailed cost/budget analysis on a development by development and cost item basis relative to the build programme
  • Managing project accounts, monitoring progress, and reporting on any cost overruns and or potential risks
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements
  • Attending site visits, conducting on-site surveys, and identifying any potential risks or opportunities
  • Conducting site meetings and liaising with site teams to ensure that projects run smoothly

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor or equivalent construction qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Quantity Surveying (Essential)
  • Experience in new build housing carpentry projects (Essential)
  • A good understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build
  • Good Finance/Commercial awareness and technical knowledge
  • Good knowledge of the Construction Industry
  • Excellent to strong mathematical and IT ability
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability and flexibility to travel sites essential
