Full Job Description

Quantum Optics Engineer required to join a rapidly growing Quantum Computing company where you will work on development and optimization of Single Photon Source (SPS) products, collaborate on testing with the research team, introduce new technologies, and support manufacturing processes.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on the engineering initiatives for Single Photon Source (SPS) products, working on design, optimisation troubleshooting and testing
  • Work closely with the research team to work on the evaluation and testing of core components.
  • Focus on the introduction of cutting-edge technologies, such as single photon sources, reference lasers with new wavelengths, and substantial updates to processor modules.
  • Facilitate the outsourcing and manufacturing processes for key components, ensuring seamless integration and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to proactively manage risks and ensure project completion in a timely manner.
  • Offer expert insights and guidance to elevate the performance, reliability, durability, and functionality of their systems.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Ph.D in Photonics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills in a research setting with a publication history and/or commendable professional endorsements.
  • Have previous hands-on experience in product development or manufacturing, with a track record of delivering innovative technical solutions.
  • Have proficiency in handling SPADs, Quantum Dots, MZIs, loop interferometers, RF electronics, and pulsers.
  • Demonstrate strong programming skills in Python or equivalent languages.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, prioritising system functionality and product excellence.
  • Work in collaboration within a dynamic team environment and able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
