Reconciliations Manager
£45,000 - £50,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester City Centre, hybrid

We’re looking for a Reconciliations Manager to join our Shared Services team to help make sure all Co-op Funeralcare cash reconciliations are completed in line with agreed timescales and budgets. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way, splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy). 

In this fast-paced role, you’ll manage a large team of advisors and senior advisors; coordinating their daily workloads and making sure they have the support they need to meet specific targets.  You’ll  make sure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a controlled, efficient, and timely manner so that key performance indicators are achieved to budget and scope.  We’ll look to you to maintain bank accounts, oversee cash and bank reconciliation and controls across the Co-op. It’s an exciting time to join, as you’ll manage the team  through a significant period of transformation and help us spot opportun ities to help us to further improve the way we work. 

What you’ll do

  • Make sure that our Co-op Funeralcare bank accounts and reconciliation processes are handled and operated effectively
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners
  • Identify and mitigate potential financial risks and issues, reporting these to the relevant colleagues
  • Lead and mentor your team, encouraging and supporting their personal development and  guiding them through a significant period of transformation
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team, ensuring efficient processes and system designs through the implementation of finance transformation
  • Make sure internal/external audits are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Support the Cash & Bank Manager with the management of the wider Cash and Treasury team

This role will suit people who have 

  • An ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualification
  • Experience of managing a large team of colleagues 
  • Proven experience producing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate often complex and intricate information to colleagues from non-finance backgrounds
