Registered Nurse- Learning Disability service
Salary £22.50ph
36 hours per week
Mixed shifts- Days and Nights

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join a beautiful Learning Disabilities service in Huntingdon.

Job description:

As a Nurse, you will work as part of the care team, carrying out all relevant forms of care in conjunction with other nurse practitioners. Ensuring that care services are consistently provided to a high-quality standard and the personal care needs of residents are met while respecting the dignity of the individual and promoting independence. You will assist in the nursing care of the residents and in the general day-day activities of the home.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within the team to ensure smooth operations, adhering to policies and NMC guidelines.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, participating in both internal and external training sessions, meetings, and supervisions.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations, including those pertaining to health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding.
  • Represent home in a positive and professional manner in all interactions with residents, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident and company information.
  • Administer medications and treatments following NMC guidelines and company policies.
  • Report any resident health concerns promptly and facilitate professional visits as necessary.
  • Maintain and update residents' care plans in collaboration with residents, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct regular checks on residents to ensure their health, safety, and comfort.
  • Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery professional Code of Conduct.
  • Support new staff members, offering guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Continuously improve professional knowledge and competence in relevant areas.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts and uphold home security measures.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures within defined timeframes.
  • Foster effective communication with residents, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in staff and resident meetings as required.
  • Provide administrative support when necessary.

Skills and attributes

  • Prior experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent skills and knowledge of the job role.
  • Driving licence- (Due to location) 

Qualifications required for the role

  • NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience.
