Reinsurance Technician

We are seeking experienced Insurance professionals to join Guy Carpenter in order to work as part of a dedicated team of Technicians in Witham.

As a Reinsurance Technician, You will support our client base through transactional processing, securing reinsurance recoveries and through timely and accurate system entry.

This role is available on a hybrid basis, offering home working for 2-3 days, with the other days based in our newly refurbished office in Witham. Free parking is available a short walk from the office.

Although this is a full time offering, candidates looking to work 28 hours+ may be considered.

We will rely on you to:

• Manage an assigned client portfolio, taking full responsibility of technical duties relating to client accounts, premiums and claims. Also covering excess of loss and pro rata business or alternatively binder and facultative risks types.
• Assess and submit client and/or reinsurer presentation materials and communications
• Work with Market Fiduciary to assist with collection of funds
• Manage all brokerage receivables, funding, retention, e-trading, post booking receipt, ad hoc reporting requests, payment of funds and all management and transactional process steps
• Promote, build and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets. Understand issues, resolve problems and queries and review working practices
• Participate in team meetings and activities to share opinions, ideas, knowledge and solutions

What you need to have: 

• Prior Insurance or Reinsurance experience within a technical capacity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Willingness to learn
• Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations

What makes you stand out:

• Previous Reinsurance experience within Pro Rata, Binder, Facultative and/or Excess of Loss
• Significant experience of working in a technical capacity for a Broker
• Experience of using London Market systems such as ECF and LORS
