The Vacancy


Playing a role in EMIS Group Technology, the Release Train Engineer will be supporting and coaching in an Agile Release Train (ART), working alongside Product Owners, Engineers and Delivery Leads within the value stream.


As a growing servant-leader the Release Train Engineer will operate as a change agent, supporting the ART in agile and scaled agile frameworks, ensuring that the agreed process is being followed.

The RTE will facilitate the removal of impediments and fosters an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement. The role is primarily accountable for overseeing and delivering the strategic Product and Engineering leadership objectives for the ART within the value stream.

What you’ll do


As a tech for good business, the customer is at the heart of everything we do. You will play an important, pragmatic role showcasing the ability to communicate with all levels of the business whilst encouraging and implementing the promotion of effective team delivery.

Day to day, your responsibilities and accountabilities will include;


  • Collaborating with Product Management on backlog refinement
  • Providing support towards successful execution and delivery of planned and urgent releases across the ART, promoting agile quality practices and DevOps principles
  • Assisting in configuring builds of the software for production releases to ensure that they are made up of the right component parts and versioned correctly.
  • Regularly representing EMIS Health at relevant industry / community events and incorporate learning back into the department.
  • Taking an active role in contributing to internal and external audits e.g. ISO 27001/9001.



Who you’ll be


Someone with growing experience of Agile ways of workings. You will have familiarity with the SDLC and want to grow your project management skills. Some of your strengths will be able to relate technical issues in a simplistic and meaningful way across the business at all levels.

You will have excellent planning, reporting and organisational skills with experience of working with stakeholders internationally, internally and externally.


You’ll have experience of managing deliverables, features and software updates using methodologies such as SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), Scrum, Kanban, AgilePM, DSDM (Dynamic Systems Development Method), Prince2
