Requirements & Acceptance Manager / Principal Systems Engineer

The role could be deployed on various projects, with a primary focus on complex ships, which are being developed for various navies across the globe.

You will be responsible for defining, managing and verifying requirements, and ensuring that all systems meet the acceptance criteria. Activities will include :

• Understanding customer needs and eliciting formal requirements
• Deriving and manage requirements for systems and sub-systems
• Ensure requirements compliance is maintained throughout the lifecycle of the project
• Define acceptance methodologies for system and sub-system requirements
• Manage the Assurance and Acceptance process with our customers and suppliers
• Providing Requirements & Acceptance guidance to the wider project
• Provide input into various design reviews
• Support system certification
• Continue with professional and personal development to maintain level of SQEP for the role

In addition, you will belong to the wider engineering capability group and will have the opportunity to support other projects in different roles within your discipline with a focus on longer term career development.

• Essential: 2.1 or better Bachelor with Honours Degree in Physics, Mathematics or Engineering
• Desirable: A Systems Engineering degree

• Chartered Engineer
• Detailed knowledge and experience of managing and leading systems engineering
• An analytical approach and a desire for complex problem solving
• Team player with strong presentation, written and oral communication skills
• Experienced requirement management tool user e.g., DOORS
• High level of competence in using Microsoft Excel

• Defining and managing work package descriptions, plans and schedules
• Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team
• Setting up and managing the R&A effort on various projects
• Accountable for the delivery of all requirements and acceptance activity within the project(s)
• Team management responsibilities including performance reviews
• Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities for project(s)
• Accountable for risks associated with R&A

• This role may require security clearance and our offer of employment will be dependent on obtaining the appropriate level of clearance
