Job Title: Senior/Research Scientist – Mass spec
Contract: 12 months
Location: Slough
Salary: £28.09 – 33.58 PAYE, £38.24 Umbrella
SRG are working with a Global Biopharmaceutical company to help them find a Senior/Research Scientist to join their busy team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual experienced in HDX-MS to join the Mass Spectrometry team within the Protein Structure and Biophysics Group.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- and mechanistic understanding of target and therapeutic molecule interactions are driven by our department using Mass Spectrometry, Cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, SAXS, NMR and other biophysical techniques.
- track record in the design and execution of HDX-MS experiments with a contextual understanding of their results alongside other structural data.
- and prioritise the demands from multiple projects.
Essential Requirements:
- or BSc with 5+ years of relevant laboratory-based experience in the design, execution and analysis of HDX-MS experiments for antibody/protein/ligand interactions.
- with Waters data processing software packages (PLGS) and DynamX™.
- knowledge Waters HDX-MS system.
- of structural visualisation tools (PyMOL, Chimera or similar).
- with HDX-MS experiments using NBE and NCE molecules.
- organisational, communication, record keeping and team-working abilities.
Desirable Requirements:
- analysis of membrane proteins.
- and maintenance of Waters LC/MS equipment.
- ability with Native MS, ion mobility MS, SEC-MS or intact mass LC/MS.
- track record of publications related to mass spectrometry in peer reviewed journals.
- of recombinant protein expression systems and PTMs.
- knowledge of Thermo Scientific Orbitrap MS systems.
