Technical Planning, Interior Trim
Centre – 13 Month Placement (July 2024)
Our
team consists of three separate areas of focus: Series Planning -
“Creating a robust core production”, Structure Planning - “Shaping the
future production system” and Project Planning - “Developing future
products”. We report into the Interior Trim Centre and are responsible
for the production of all interior trim products within the
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars marque. The department use core lean principles
to develop the most efficient way of producing products without impact
to our exceptional quality. The department influences the business
through strategical decisions, coaching and communication. We are
seeking two interns to join in July 2024.
What will you be doing?
- Optimisation of assembly sequences, including
line balancing to improve Health & Safety and environmental
implications as well as increased efficiency.
- Identification, procurement and installation of specialised tooling
and key equipment including structures.
- Scenario planning to create the future production system considering
all relevant planning premises from strategical analysis of future
volume demands.
- Realisation planning for
shutdowns including detailed project timing plans and risk
assessments.
- Manufacturing feasibility and
realisation of design and engineering requirements within the concept
development process.
- Manage the introduction
of new materials and processes.
- Studying a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree
and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in Mechanical Engineering,
Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant course.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English; working knowledge of German would
be beneficial.
- Excellent team spirit and
communication skills.
- Autodidactic ability of learning new methods and software applications.
