SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant

Harrow

£85 - £95 a day, ASAP start, long-term temp role (with view to go permanent)

Are you an aspiring SEN Teaching Assistant that lives in or around the Harrow area, who is enthusiastic about helping students with various special educational needs live their best school lives?

We are working with a brilliant SEN Secondary school who are looking for people who are passionate about supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of SEN – Autism, Social Emotional Mental Health Needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

If you match this description and will be available to work full-time, 5 days a week (8.30am to 4pm) to start ASAP then this could be the perfect role for you!

For this  SEN Teaching Support Assistant  role, you will be:

• Supporting students with ASD, SEMH or complex needs on either a 1:1 or small group basis.
• Providing support to the class teacher and rest of team.
• Ensuring a safe and inspiring learning environment.
• Applying different approaches to cater for various learning abilities and challenging behaviours.
• Positively interacting with co-workers.

Requirements for this SEN Learning Support Assistant role include: -

• Previous experience working with children or individuals with special educational needs is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the development of students with SEN.
• An understanding of different SEN conditions and strategies for addressing them.
• An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check may be required.

You'd be working in a supportive school who prioritise the wellbeing of their students and staff! This is initially a temporary position with the view to going permanent.
