Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the learning and development of students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the SEN teacher in planning, implementing, and evaluating individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, helping them to engage with the curriculum and achieve their goals.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective communication and continuity of support for students with SEN.
  • Monitor and record the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and adapting support strategies as necessary.
  • Assist with the personal care and well-being of students, including supporting with mobility, personal hygiene, and emotional regulation.

What We Look for in You?

  • Enthusiastic individuals with a genuine passion for education.
  • Prior experience working with children and young people with SEN, either in a school setting or another relevant environment.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively and positively with empathy and patience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Attainment of a good general standard of education (GCSE Grade C or equivalent) in both English and Maths, alongside IT proficiency.
