Starting at 8:45 am and finishing at 4:00 pm
(5:00 pm of Tuesdays), this role is for a full-time (term time only,
five inset days included) Teaching Assistant role in:
* Primary/Secondary SEN - Working with 2
- 18-year-olds with special educational needs. The school can hire
specific applicants (for example, Early Years, Primary, Secondary)
however, all applicants must be happy to go up and down the school,
should a class need cover for the day.

to Perm (12 weeks probation).
About
the role:
SEN classes with a
range of mild learning disabilities, some children are non-verbal but
communicate through gesture and their behaviour so staff need to be
able to interpret what they see as communication and work out how to
solve it.
Some children will require specific
Learning in the lower years looks like playing and
engaging in activities set out indoors and outdoors, there will be
some 1:1 learning set out on the plan to achieve with children whilst
they engage in their play. Learning in the higher years will have
students working and making independent choices to strive towards
success, with the assistance of their TAs and Teachers to get them to
reach their full potential. Most students will be studying for
entry-level or P-level qualifications.
Staff need to be able to look at what it is aimed for the children to
learn and use their initiative to be able to support the children to
engage in this through their play.
Monday to Friday, Term
Time only, £88 per day .
Candidates will need to have:
Good
initiative – can see when children are putting things in their mouth,
risk assess the environment constantly, remove potentially dangerous
items like choking hazards
Primary: Be animated and not afraid
to get stuck in and involved in being able to sing songs, model
playing with different toys, and use initiative to support children
transitioning around from place to place i.e. can you follow my
leader, use theme songs as motivators, use animated language like a
Cbeebies presenter.
Primary & Secondary: Be resilient - along
with the joys of working with children, there will be challenges with
behaviour. Patience, understanding and following the behaviour
policies are key to developing behaviour management skills.
All: Be able to read a plan, interpret the learning and liaise
closely with the class teacher. Supply reflective feedback about the
children worked with at the end of the day to the teacher. Be a great
role model to your pupils.
Ideal, but not
essential, Experience:
