Full Job Description

Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs - Full Time 8:45am - 4:00pm (5:00pm Tuesdays)

Monday to Friday, term time only. £88 per day. 12 weeks Temp to Perm.

Start soon (Notice Periods Considered) - Burgess Hill area,  West Sussex, UK.

A special school in the Burgess Hill area are looking for a Teaching Assistant to become part of their fantastic team starting as soon as they can. The school has a highly effective senior leadership team and can demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning, as well as resilient and hardworking class assist in. They seek to develop the 'whole' individual within an environment where the self-esteem of their students is nurtured so that they can develop and flourish. The children range from 2 years old up to 19 years.

They seek to appoint highly motivated, enthusiastic, caring and friendly team players to join their effective and supportive staff. All staff have opportunities for professional development and everyone’s contributions are valued. You must be a person of integrity, who is highly professional, positive and respectful of others and share their principle that everyone matters, and every day counts.

 

The school are looking for a candidate that has a background of working with children (in school, volunteering, general life experience, clubs, etc.) and appreciates the dedication needed to gain Teaching Assistant studies certificates. However, what they are specifically looking for is a TA with a natural skill of working with children, a proactive and reactive team player that has the children's learning at the forefront of their practice.

The school are seeking candidates who:

• Are caring and understanding of children’s needs
• Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and attainment
• Are very well-organised & efficient
• Are open to advice, feedback and guidance from colleagues
• Are able to work as part of a team
• Have experience of directly working/being/living with children with SEN (such as ASD (autism), ADHD, PMLD)

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A Child Enhanced DBS placed on the Update Service, or happy to obtain one during the compliance stages.
