General Teaching assistant duties: Your overall responsibility will be to ensure all students have equal opportunities to develop themselves academically. This will be achieved by promoting the importance of education and supporting the specific needs of the young people in the classroom and at other group activities. You will promote self-esteem and support the students in making informed decisions. The Teaching Assistant role involves a level of personal care and you will need to support with physical interventions when necessary to ensure the safety of Learners and other staff.

Training for this will be given. You will work term time only hours, Monday to Friday daytime hours but you will be paid throughout the year.

Teaching Assistant Criteria: Relevant social care experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Support Worker or Care Assistant / Care Worker You is required, as is the ability to work the hours mentioned above. You will be working in a challenging but highly rewarding environment. You must be confident at managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours, be an engaging and passionate person and have a strong desire to develop the skills and life opportunities of disadvantaged young people.

Driver preferrable due to the location of the service.
