Full Job Description

Ackerman Pierce work closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one to one tutoring for children waiting for school placements. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs and so we are seeking experienced SEN /HLTA's/tutors/teachers.

We are currently recruiting for a KS1-KS4 SEND Tutors to provide face to face provision to a pupil who need access to alternative provision in Hillingdon. The role is to start straight after Easter holidays.

  • Location - Hillingdon
  • Position - KS1-KS4 SEND Tutors
  • Start date - Immediately
  • End date (if applicable) - ongoing
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Full time/part time - Part time - 15 hours per week per student over 5 days, 3 hours per day. Ability to take on numerous students to increase hours to 30 per week
  • Rate of pay - 25 - 35 per hour
  • Hours - Tuition will take Place 1:1 at home or in a community setting. Monday - Friday (Term time only)

We are looking for candidates who are: -

  • Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
  • Experienced in delivering differentiated National Curriculum core subjects.
  • Experience teaching young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASD/MLD/SpLD
  • Exceptional behaviour management strategies.
  • Prepared to work face to face within the community or young person's home.

SEND Tutor responsibilities:

  • Planning each session of tutoring.
  • Tailor sessions, teaching techniques and materials to individual learners.
  • Fill Gaps in Young Persons Knowledge.
  • Completing weekly and half termly reports.
  • Providing feedback on the young person's progress.

Requirements

  • Background teaching in English, Maths, Science or SEN classes ranging from KS1-KS4.
  • QTS status (or equivalent) or unqualified with two years' experience teaching NC core subjects
  • Experience working with ASD/EBD/SEMH and associated complex needs.
