Job advertisement: SEND / SEMH – Various positions

Location: Lincoln

Start Date: Immediate Start required

Working hours: 8.30 am - 3.30 pm (Term Time Only)

Pay Rate: Paid to Scale.

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated professionals experienced in supporting young people with Special Needs & Learning Difficulties to join our Team.

GSL is actively working with 2 Multi Academy Trusts in the Lincoln area, both Trusts have multiple Schools within, which translates to lots of opportunity for the right applicants!

Responsibilities when supporting SEN / SEMH:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN needs within the classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement education plans and behaviour plans.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting emotional well-being and social development.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to relevant parties.
  • Assist in interventions, utilising school facilities such as sensory integration rooms, sports equipment and therapeutic settings to re-integrate children back into the classroom.
  • Work closely with external agencies, parents, and colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Required to work with SEN / SEMH / LD:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, Sports, Psychology, Performing Arts etc.
  • Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support, Behaviour Support, Sports Coaches all welcomed.
  • Team Teach training or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH or SEND needs, including Autism, Complex care, MLD, PMLD.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions including de-escalation tactics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting students with EHCP’s is desirable.
