Job Description

It’s an exciting time to join NIQ with business wide investments being made to deliver against our Full View mission.  Consumer Panel is core to this with a global investment commitment fully underway in the UK.  NIQ are already seeing a significant increase in the number of clients interested in our enhanced panel proposition and our healthy performance demonstrates the growing appetite across the FMCG client community for integrated solutions and an increasingly compelling ROI proposition.

During this exciting time means an expanding Panel team and this is where this brand-new role comes in. This role will report directly to the commercial lead for Consumer Panel Services in the UK and have responsibility for the Panel Ad Hoc business (snapshots of data via excel/PPT sold to existing panel clients and new panel clients).  As it is a new role within the team the successful candidate will be able to craft it how they see fit.  We are looking for someone with real Hunter mentality to find new pockets of Panel revenue, crucially being proactive rather than reactive.

The role will have responsibility for the ad hoc selling strategy and for building a healthy pipeline of opportunities and management of these in Microsoft Dynamics.  It will come with a direct revenue target but be supported by the wider team including Insight and Thought Leadership to ensure the successful candidate is equipped with knowledge and nuggets of insights to be used in the identifying, proposing and converting sales process. This is a commercial role so there will be no analytics required, however an understanding and passion for Consumer Panel is a must.

Responsibilities:

Building Ad Hoc revenues:

  • The role will have sole responsibility for driving Ad Hoc consumer panel revenues across existing and non-clients.
  • This will involve creating new opportunities, following up on sales leads and ensuring client proposals are well matched to business needs and that delivery can be accommodated in a timely fashion. The latter will involve working closely with operational and service teams to ensure the right commitments are offered to clients, and that the project work meets client expectations.

Pipeline management & forecasting:

  • The candidate will be responsible for building a healthy pipeline of opportunities and management of these in Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Forecasting revenue using the appropriate finance tools (Revelio Forecasting) and ensuring finance have the relevant documentation for billing according to key deadlines is critical.
  • If required, the candidate will be requested to support the wider Consumer panel team for proposals in the broader portfolio if there is an opportunity elsewhere.

Matrix working:

  • The Consumer panel team in the UK has a unique structure and as such relies on the Customer Success (analytical) teams to service our products. Working with these teams to raise awareness of our product capabilities, help build their skill set in the new data capture methodology and therefore be able to field client questions and develop a two-way dialogue to understand client business questions are important.

Requirements:

  • Solid experience working within the FMCG industry, ideally with experience of working with Consumer or Shopper panel data Panel. Experience of working with and/or selling NielsenIQ Homescan, Kantar Worldpanel, or loyalty card data would be a strong advantage.
  • Experience or working with, or within, FMCG client insight departments and internal customers.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen (including business environment and client), including experience of negotiating ad hoc sales and working towards monthly sales targets.
  • Expert influencing - and negotiation skills (external and internal), including track record of overcoming challenges & objections.
  • Solid proficiency in decision-making and problem resolution in a highly client-focused fashion.
  • Highly proficient project management and time management skills, multi-tasking will be key to success in this role.
  • Experience of using NielsenIQ and/or Kantar Worldpanel analytic tools & delivery systems would be an advantage.
  • Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
