Here is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to join the senior team at the Ramada Encore b y Wyndham Leicester City Centre as a Sales Manager – Maternity cover for 12 months.

THE HOTEL

Ramada Encore by Wyndham Leicester City Centre, opened in 2012, is strategically located in the city centre of Leicester. The hotel contains 115 bedrooms and offers an all-day dining restaurant, a gym and meeting facilities; but the hotel is much more than bricks and mortar, bedrooms and treadmills.

THE ROLE

The Sales Manager is responsible for maximising all sales opportunities through a structured, pro-active approach to develop the business in order to achieve/exceed the Hotel’s Sales & Marketing Plan.

The Sales Manager is a self-starter, with confidence in B2B selling and presenting to clients of all levels. You will be a natural “closer” and not shy in asking for the business to keep in line with your performance targets. The Sales Manager will have an understanding and appreciation of hotel operations, with a knowledge of accommodation reservations, groups management and reception with Opera and fluency of market segmentation.

This is a client and guest facing role with much business secured in face-to-face prospecting, conversion of enquiry on property throughout.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • To secure and develop new local business and grow existing accounts for the hotels. Keeping in line with agreed market sectors and annual budgets relating to the Hotel.
  • To support appointment making, local marketing, reporting and in–house responsibilities. Customer appointments will be made to suit the client and this will involve some evening appointments (regular) and some weekends (occasional)
  • To positively approach all sales opportunities in order to maximise sales revenue and exceed budgeted sales targets / objectives.
  • To prepare hotels annual business plans and rolling 3 monthly sales plans in line with hotel budgets Research and identify new rooms and conference business in line with hotels business plans/budget.
  • Create and maintain contact with regular and new client Develop strong local product and competitor knowledge
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • To follow all Company guidelines and sales disciplines when meeting with clients.
  • To monitor local Companies performance each month, review performance for the top performing accounts
  • Attend and present at monthly hotels sales meetings and regional / national meetings. To attend weekly meetings with the General Manager.
  • Achieve and exceed set objectives set at monthly sales meetings and business reviews
  • Prepare and submit rate tenders / RFPs on behalf of the hotel / group.
  • To monitor local Companies and the local planning authorities to take advantage of any new business opportunities.
  • Organise and carryout client entertaining, show rounds and FAM trips for key bookers (agent / direct) and main decision makers.
  • Attend and implement actions resulting from 1:1’s and Annual performance review
  • To comply with all Company and statutory requirements for fire, hygiene, health & safety procedures.

Background and Skills
  • Hotel Sales Management Experience at sales manager / reservations / front office leadership role of minimum of two years in a branded hotel environment
  • Knowledge of PMS – reservations management / input and ideally Opera System experience
  • Must live within 45 mins drive from the property
  • Fluency in English (Written and spoken)
  • Understanding of market segmentation and of local corporate contracting
