Join Our Team at Tomato Energy as a Sales Training & Development Lead:


Salary Range: £35000 - £45000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Remote/Hybrid (with occasional office visits to Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Basingstoke)

With our continuous growth, Tomato Energy is seeking a Sales Training Lead to join our team. We're looking for someone with a proven track record in sales training delivery and the ability to drive positive outcomes in a dynamic learning setting.


As a Sales Training Lead, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and performance of our sales teams through strategic training and development initiatives.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the execution of our sales and marketing plans in the designated territory for Field Sales Advisers and Telesales Advisers.
  • Welcome and develop new starters through sales induction delivery.
  • Development of a Sales Adviser life cycle training programme.
  • Analyse performance trends of individuals to identify focus areas for coaching.
  • Educate on and empower SMART goals with sales teams to drive clarity and motivation.
  • Design and execute learning material aligned to Tomato Energy’s objectives, including sales training, product, systems, and compliance training.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset to ensure training methodology and mechanisms provide effective results.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to demonstrate behavioural changes as a result of your coaching.


What you'll need:

  • Experience leading and inspiring people in roles at all levels, preferably in sales, ideally with relevant industry experience in utilities, energy, solar, heating, or renewables.
  • Experience as a Sales Coach, Sales Trainer, or similar role.
  • Strong engagement skills.
  • Ability to work at pace, handle multiple projects and challenges, and organize others to maintain momentum and progress.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to use data effectively, and present information clearly.
  • Ability to design sales content within a compliant framework.
  • Excellent communication skills in multiple formats.
  • Regular travel across the UK to various sites which may include some international travel.
  • Passion for helping others be their best, with a growth mindset and resilience in a high-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Can demonstrate a variety of different coaching approaches.
  • Proven track record in driving performance.
  • Experienced in creating tailored coaching plans.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate people.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Contact Centre/Field sales environment is essential.
