We’re looking for a proactive Sanctions Risk Manager within Economic Crime Risk and Control in Cater Allen Private Bank. You’ll manage and support the Sanctions economic crime, regulatory and risk management agenda for the Bank across the Directorate. 

As the Sanctions Risk manager you’ll play a key part in continuing the growth of the Line 1 Economic Crime unit within Cater Allen Private Bank. You’ll use your experience to embed the defined operating model and support or manage the impacts of any regulatory requests, as well as providing advice, support and liaising with key stakeholders within Cater Allen Private Bank, the Economic Crime Centre of Excellence (EC CoE) and other stakeholders.

  • Identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting risks, taking proactive personal responsibility for ‘doing the right thing’ in compliance with regulatory requirements and our frameworks

  • Applying and overseeing policies and risk appetite, through formal governance and other informal interactions

  • Ensuring stakeholders identify, understand, and assess the changing Sanctions risk environment and obtaining buy-in to mitigate these risks and providing a forward-looking view

  • Promoting compliance to risk policies across the Directorate and to all business stakeholders/internal network

  • Working in partnership with EC CoE and relevant stakeholders to set Sanctions economic crime risk appetite, thresholds, and tolerances, setting requirements for building, maintaining and reporting relevant KRIs and MI for management reporting

What we’re looking for

  • Current and proven experience in Economic Crime, specifically in Sanctions and Sanctions Risk Management

  • Experience of working with Sanctions economic crime policies, frameworks and controls gained from working within an FC specialist/core role

It would also be nice to have

  • Ability to provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice and guidance in relation to sanctions-related queries received from various stakeholders with your extensive knowledge of US, UK, EU and UN sanctions regulations

  • Experience of applying informed and risk-based judgement from a regulatory perspective to commercial situations

  • An acceptable financial crime qualification, ideally with an emphasis on Sanctions regimes

  • Analytical skills with the ability to rationalise data from several sources and create insights

This is a permanent role which can be based in Milton Keynes or Sheffield and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.
