Full Job Description

Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant with a strong background in Construction to support students within our Secondary School setting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of experience working in the UK education sector, coupled with practical knowledge of Construction techniques and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging and informative Construction lessons, providing individualized support to students as needed.
  2. Resource Preparation: Prepare materials and resources for Construction lessons, ensuring that all necessary equipment is readily available for practical activities.
  3. Student Guidance: Provide guidance and support to students during practical Construction tasks, promoting safety and best practices at all times.
  4. Curriculum Enhancement: Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and enhance the Construction curriculum, incorporating real-world examples and industry insights.
  5. Assessment Assistance: Assist in the assessment of student work, providing constructive feedback and encouragement to promote skill development and achievement.
  6. Behaviour Management: Support the maintenance of a positive and respectful learning environment, addressing any behavioural issues with tact and professionalism.
  7. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during Construction activities, taking appropriate measures to mitigate risks and ensure student welfare.
  8. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills related to both Education and Construction.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working within the UK education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Construction principles, techniques, and materials.
  • Relevant qualifications in Education or Construction (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
