Senior Accountant

Full Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Alfreton as they look to to bring a new Senior Accountant into the finance team.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role will be a key member of the finance team, assisting in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data.

Duties will include: -

- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Variance analysis along with any related commentary 
- VAT returns
- Assisting with preparing budgets and forecasts
- Developing and managing key relationships outside the finance function 
- Preparation and analysis of monthly cost reports for departmental managers and the senior management team
- Supporting the FC with the decision-making process, that will ensure business growth and long-term success

This is very much a hands on role with plenty of opportunity for personal growth.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experiences: - 

• Ideally qualified ACCA/CIMA/ ACA
• Proven experience working in a busy finance team.
• Good knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
• Working knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
• Involvement within budgeting and forecasting, including analysis
• Working knowledge of ERP software and MS Office
• Analytical mind with aptitude in maths
• Extract and manipulate data for analysis
• A problem-solver with attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good interpersonal and business partnering skills
• Excellent written and verbal communicator
• Diligent and structured approach 
• Desire to deliver continual improvements
