About the Role

As a Practice Leader at Hassell, your primary focus will be on business development, client engagement, and winning Landscape Architecture / Public Realm projects. Your role will play a crucial part in shaping the business's future and driving quality project outcomes while leading teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive business development, actively engaging with clients to identify and secure engagements, partnerships, and projects.
  • Lead teams on medium to large projects, ensuring commercial impact and setting the stage for future project delivery leadership.
  • Champion Hassell's Design Process, driving design excellence in your studio and region.
  • Leading in best practice innovative and sustainable design.
  • Attract great design talent to the studio through your profile and connections.
  • Collaborate with other Practice Leaders locally and globally for quality project, people, and practice outcomes.
  • Contribute to the commercial success of projects, ensuring they are well led, managed, profitable, and reputationally valuable to the practice.

About You

A seasoned built environment practitioner in London/UK/Europe with a passion for design excellence and a proven track record of winning work. You are an ambitious and dynamic individual ready to shape the future of landscape architecture and public realm on projects across UK and Europe.  A leader who wants to have a pivotal role in shaping a design business.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in landscape design/urban design/urban and regional planning/architectural design.
  • Likely to be a Senior Associate, Associate Director, or Principal Landscape Architect currently.
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute or qualified to RIBA Part 3 or other affiliated membership body.
  • Proven ability to drive business development, win work, and build client relationships.
  • Ability to develop, lead, and communicate inspiring design ideas across various sectors.
  • Utilising experience and knowledge to support analysis, insights, and new perspectives.
  • Promoting the use of the latest technology, processes, and professional standards.
  • Leading small/large project teams, coaching, mentoring, and advocating knowledge sharing.
  • Creating processes to bring diverse perspectives together, maintaining effective ways of working for project teams.
  • Building client relationships, managing accounts, and presenting convincingly to win work.
  • Thinking commercially, ensuring projects run effectively within budget, and collaboratively developing new business.
