Are you an experienced Buyer or Senior Buyer with knowledge of
Purchasing within manufacturing environments?
Our client is
an established manufacturing SME at the early stages of growing their
current Purchasing team. They are looking for a strong Senior Buyer
(Temporary) to join then for a 6 month FTC with the scope to extend or
become permanent.
Paying up to £50,000, this is an excellent
opportunity for someone immediately available (or available on short
notice) to take responsibility for purchasing all raw and component
materials, building relationships with new and existing suppliers, and
monitoring stock levels.
This is a hands-on, operational Buying role with some strategic supplier identification and onboarding involved.
Job Description:
Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw and finished materials to meet the company's material needs
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness
Analyse costs, negotiate pricing, and implement cost-saving initiatives to maximize profitability
Manage supplier contracts, including terms, conditions, and compliance, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives
- Continuously evaluate and optimize the supply chain to enhance efficiency and minimize risk
- Work closely with internal stakeholders such as operations, and inventory management to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively
- Generate reports and provide insights on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost analysis
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in a similar level role
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP and strong Excel is essential
- Experience in a manufacturing business environment essential
Additional Requirements:
Must be immediately available, or available to start on no more than a 2 week notice period
- Must be able to commit to the full 6 month period
