Senior Commercial Property Claims Handler - NIG Manchester - Hybrid (1 day a week in the office)

Full Time, Permanent Position

This role is in scope to transfer to RSA in Summer 2024. As part of this, RSA are currently consulting with DLG’s Employment Representative Body on their proposed measures (changes to terms and conditions and ways of working that RSA intend to make as part of the transfer). What you'll be doing

Reporting directly to the Commercial Claims Team Leader, you'll handle larger and more complex NIG property claims up to £100,000. Responsibilities include triaging new technical or large property claims, managing end-to-end claims processes, identifying potential fraudulent claims, negotiating indemnity and liability, and identifying recovery opportunities. Additionally, you'll support the team leader in managing the team, contribute to claims handling strategy development, and ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines. Acting as a technical mentor, you'll also facilitate personal and team development to maintain excellence in the department. Throughout, you'll prioritise the customer experience and meet all business targets as outlined.

What we're looking for
  • Previous Claims Handling experience within Commercial is necessary, including initiation, investigation, negotiation and settlement, claims quantum and assessment

  • Knowledge of Fraud and Investigation

  • Aware of Insurance Principles and Practice

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

  • Experience mentoring others
