Full Job Description

Our client - an international law firm - is seeking a Senior Conflicts Lawyer to join their growing team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the firm’s senior management, and the wider business, in ensuring the development and maintenance of the highest standard of professional conduct, as well as ensure global compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.


The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Critically analysing the firm’s current approach to conflicts, and current conflict processes, to ensure that the firm is well-positioned to accept opportunities in the market over the next 5 to 10 years
  • Preparing and delivering conflicts/risk training in-person, across offices, as well as virtually
  • Acting as the escalation point for the Business Acceptance team, Conflicts Lawyers and Partners in the firm, regarding conflicts and confidentiality issues
  • Understanding the significant risks faced by the firm across the entire compliance function, i.e., Professional Indemnity risks, Data Protection and Privacy risks, financial crime risks, as well as conflicts and risks associated with client engagement.
  • Guiding the firm’s global approach and process to managing and resolving conflicts
  • Managing the legal analysis of escalated potential conflicts and confidentiality issues
  • Providing advice regarding the firm’s most complex and challenging conflicts issues
  • Implementing policies and procedures for managing conflicts, recommending changes, and implementing improvements as required.



To be considered for the role you will need some or all of the following competencies:

  • Qualified lawyer with years of experience practising in an international law firm
  • A Bachelor or Master’s Degree (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience managing conflicts and confidentiality risks within a law firm
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled in influencing and motivating others, including senior leaders
  • Excellent training skills; capable of inspiring engagement with relevant training and scenarios from busy executives
  • Ability to design and deliver relevant and challenging exercise scenarios to business continuity team members at all levels.
