The Role

  • We are looking for an experienced and driven candidate to work in this boutique consultancy within the Financial Times.
  • We require local language skills as we expand our offering and projects into new territories
  • You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment as we scale our consulting business. You will be central to that growth, shaping how it succeeds.
  • You will drive our mission, helping global clients develop digital strategies that will transform both their businesses and the wider media industry.
  • You will be working with a range of media companies - some in their own early stages and others that have long established legacies. These will be a mixture of news publishers, businesses from a range of other media sectors, and organisations from selected adjacent industries that could benefit from our expertise.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • This person should be fluent and have high proficiency in the following languages: either Korean or Taiwanese Mandarin and Traditional Chinese
  • Experience working in a bilingual environment (Korean, Traditional Chinese and English)
  • Deep understanding of the media industry, which should include experience with a multiple media companies, preferably international
  • Experience of working within a startup business, with an understanding of essential entrepreneurial skills
  • Experience of taking a senior and client-facing role in consulting engagements, including influencing the direction of projects and managing more junior members of the team

Required skills

Your role in this team will be to deliver consulting engagements. This will include:

  • Ability to use hypothesis-driven problem solving to develop an approach to solve strategic problems for media companies
  • Ability to quickly absorb information from interviews, data, reports and other information sources, in order to produce succinct evaluation of a situation
  • Quantitative skills, such as the ability to build Excel models, research output, draw key insights from data or visualise data as compelling charts in Powerpoint
  • Project management skills, delegating work as appropriate to other team members, internal FT experts and external freelance experts
  • Client communication skills, using Powerpoint slides to efficiently produce output
  • Maintaining and directing strong client relationships and being available to respond to ad hoc requests
  • Mentoring more junior team members who you will work alongside on client engagements
  • Curious mind, adaptability and strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with digital transformation and advanced data skills
  • Ability to work in a bilingual environment including stakeholder management of both clients and FT Strategies team members
