Full Job Description

The role:

The Senior Design Manager will play a key role in overseeing the design development and coordination of our luxury residential projects from conception through to completion. This position requires a highly skilled individual with a strong background in architecture or engineering, coupled with proven experience managing complex residential designs.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design team in developing innovative and aesthetically pleasing concepts for high-end residential developments, ensuring alignment with the project vision, client requirements, and budgetary constraints.
2. Collaborate closely with external and internal stakeholders, including project managers, architects, engineers, and interior designers, to integrate design solutions seamlessly into the overall project delivery process.
3. Oversee the preparation and review of architectural drawings, specifications, and other design documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance with building codes, and adherence to project timelines.
4. Manage the coordination of consultants and external design partners, including structural engineers, MEP engineers, to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and resolve design conflicts.
5. Conduct regular design reviews and presentations to stakeholders, providing clear and concise communication of design intent, progress updates, and recommendations for resolution of design-related issues.
6. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in residential design, and integrate innovative design solutions and sustainable principles into project designs where appropriate.
7. Foster a culture of creativity, excellence, and continuous improvement within the design team, mentoring junior.
8. Collaborate closely with the commercial team to prepare project packages, assess variations, and address changes effectively.
9. Oversee, monitor, and ensure adherence to design program deadlines, proactively managing any challenges to maintain project timelines.
10. Take ownership of Information Release Schedules (IRS), ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of design information to relevant stakeholders.
