Senior Electrical Estimator

Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking for a new challenge? We're seeking a talented individual to join my clients team as a Senior Electrical Estimator at their established M&E contracting firm located in the heart of the Central Belt of Scotland.

They specializes in delivering top-notch mechanical and electrical solutions across a diverse range of projects, from 50,000 to 2 million in value. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to innovation, they pride themselves on delivering projects that exceed client expectations.

As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in their pre-construction team, responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with electrical elements of their projects. Your expertise will contribute to the success of their bids, ensuring competitiveness in the market while maintaining profitability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with talented professionals in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed electrical take-offs and material quantity surveys.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Collaborate with the wider project team to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior estimators as needed.
  • Participate in tender review meetings and contribute valuable insights to enhance bid strategies.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in estimator estimating within the M&E sector.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and building services engineering.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive tenders on time.
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field are advantageous.
