Senior Facade Engineer

Full Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical delivery of façade design and consultancy services
• Collaborate and coordinate with other project participants. Including Architects, owners, consultants and contractors.
• Produce reports, sketches, drawings and technical deliverables at each project stage.
• Write technical specifications and respond to site and construction related queries.
• Conduct buildings surveys and lead the production of due diligence reports for buildings owners.
• Undertake factory visits, site inspections and witness façade performance testing.
• Review contractors’ proposals, conduct tender appraisals and lead the technical review of specialist contractor detailed design submissions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members.
• Participate in internal technical networks and promote and share façade engineering knowledge with colleagues in different geographical locations.
• Assist with business development activities and prepare fee proposals.

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates will need to have façade engineering and design consultancy experience in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will meet the following minimum criteria:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering or other relevant design related discipline.
• A Chartered Engineer or qualified Architect. Or be an associate member of a relevant institution who is working toward qualification.
• A minimum of eight years of façade design and engineering experience.
• Excellent communication skills including verbal, report writing and visual techniques.
• Detailed working knowledge of relevant Building Regulations, BS/EN Standards, CWCT technical guidance and international standards.
• Thorough understanding of the principles governing the structural behavior and thermal performance of façades and their application in design and construction.
• Extensive familiarity with different façade systems, products, materials and finishes and their fabrication, assembly, construction and operation.
• Be eligible and have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
