Rebellion North are looking for an experienced Senior Game Designer to work on Rebellion games as well as trusted industry partners on genre-defining AAA IPs. You will have the opportunity to join an ambitious team working on multiple projects using different engines including Unreal 5. Join us as we shoot for the stars!

You will be joining the talented Rebellion North studio based in our Wakefield Location. Rebellion North are a dynamic and growing team who relish challenges and punching above their weight. Our preference is for candidates to work together at our Wakefield site but hybrid candidates will also be considered.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be working on an exciting unannounced arcade sports game title. Our dynamic and quickly growing design team is looking for a highly motivated individual to learn and grow as part of our team.

Responsibilities :

  • Create detailed game design documents and prototype specifications which can be used throughout the production process
  • Develop and iterate the game design through close collaboration with Programmers, Artists, animation and other disciplines
  • Implement gameplay features using game engines, visual scripting and other design tools.
  • Run feature kickoff meetings and take part in project planning meetings
  • Conduct gameplay evaluations with the team providing feedback and suggestions to help fine tune and improve the game, whilst balancing various areas such as controls, combat, metagame, etc.
  • Track and update the progress of day-to-day tasks using the designated tracking tools
  • Implement and incorporate feedback from the Producer and Leads into the work
  • Work with and mentor more junior members of the team


Requirements
  • Professional experience as a Games Designer having published at least one pc/console game through it’s life cycle
  • Good knowledge of creating game design documents and prototype specifications
  • Solid knowledge of games engines and visual scripting. Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 is of particular interest.
  • Advanced knowledge of the video game development process, including working in a timely / time-bound manner, and prototyping/iterating appropriately within that restriction
  • A good understanding of production pipelines
  • Able to apply an awareness of the audience to the game
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate efficiently
