Job Description

At UWE Bristol, we have a large and diverse IT team of over 170 professionals involved in the development and maintenance of around 700 different applications and systems supporting both our students and staff communities. The IT Operations Infrastructure team is a multi-disciplined team of engineers developing and maintaining the technology that underpins the systems that the University needs to operate and provide quality services for students and staff.

As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will deliver best practice technical expertise in the management and maintenance of the University's machine rooms and associated appliances, the comms rooms, and network infrastructure, so you will need to have experience of IT Infrastructure, including an understanding of infrastructure components such as UPS, generators, and machine room cooling.

A significant proportion of the role will be the support and management of the University's fibre interconnects and associated network equipment, so proven working experience in this area will also be important. The University is making a heavy investment in its buildings, so advising design teams and specifying IT infrastructure requirements for new building projects is also a key part of the role.

Please see the attached job description and information for applicants.
